Rachel Barber Receives AHA Legacy Leadership Award

Rachel Barber, VEC Executive Vice President of Finance and long time volunteer, board member and supporter of The American Heart Association Youngstown was presented the Legacy Leadership Award by Tracy Behnke, Executive Director.

Formerly known as the Distinguished Service Award, this award recognizes individual leadership with the AHA that has extended over a significant period which resulted in identifiable contribution(s) to the advancement of the mission at the division or affiliate-level.

As part of the nomination, Tracy commented, “Mrs. Rachel Barber has been a tried and true volunteer for the AHA over the past two decades. Through the many changes our office and organization has seen and gone through, she has been the constant through it all. She has sat on our board, serving as president for multiple terms, has been instrumental in helping recruit leadership for our events and board, and even serving as chair of the Heart Ball. Her entire family is deeply engaged with our mission and have been contributing since 2004.”
