VEC - Working For Our Team!
Valley Electrical Consolidated, Inc will grow to be the best complete electrical systems provider in the nation by focusing on the needs and concerns of our employees and customers. This commitment to our employees will build a strong team that will offer better quality and versatility to our customers. A dedicated team and a commitment to the latest technology in the electrical contracting industry will lead us in a positive direction with unlimited opportunities for our company and our valued customers.
What VEC is doing to help its employees improve themselves and their workplace:
Lunch 'n' Learns
A Lunch 'n' Learn is held weekly for all VEC employees. Each hour-long session features a different speaker and a new topic. The presentations can feature a VEC employee teaching his or her teammates about a new procedure the company is using, or a community activist speaking to the company about a local non-profit group. Lunch is provided by the company.
Morale & Recognition
VEC recognizes that everyone needs appreciation and recognition. A committee comprised of company employees ensures that morale stays high and a sense of camaraderie remains prevalent. Past events have included honoring National Popcorn Day, ice cream socials, a Cedar Point outing, a white water rafting trip, Youngstown State University tailgate parties, VEC flag football games, Employee of the Month awards, birthday/service anniversary recognition and Christmas parties for employees of the company and their children.
Employee Interaction
Nothing stimulates a workplace like a little friendly competition. VEC holds many contests to encourage employee interaction. These challenges also enable employees to improve themselves and their workplace. We kicked off 2009 with our Biggest Loser Challenge, and together, VEC teammates became healthier. The company also held a contest to choose a name for the VEC Intranet, and employees have been enjoying a creative style of BINGO (Being Influential Never Gets Old) that encourages employees to show appreciation for each other and gives players a chance to win prizes.
Safety & Incentive Program
Safety is a top priority at VEC, and leaders here have exemplified that point through the establishment of a $70,000 Safety and Incentive Web site program. This program awards points to employees who work safely throughout the year and promote other positive behavior in the workplace. Points are accumulated on a weekly basis, and employees can redeem those points for a variety of prizes available through an online catalog.
VEC Stimulus Plan
Due to the hard economic times the nation is facing, VEC has implemented our own stimulus plan. This plan offers families of VEC employees the opportunity to receive some financial assistance. For complete details and more information on the VEC Stimulus Plan please contact Tricia Ferry
