VEC employees recently completed their reading of the Toyota Way, but the company’s strong commitment to Kaizen (continuous improvement) and Hansei (personal reflection) will persist.
For several months, a group of VEC team members spent one lunch hour a week discussing the Toyota Way, a book in which Jeffrey K. Liker explains the long term philosophies that made Toyota one of the most successful car manufacturers in the world.
Through the meetings, the group compiled a long list of suggestions to make VEC more “lean” and began implementing those ideas immediately. The company encourages all employees to question processes, learn from mistakes and constantly look for ways to make things better, with a deep commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
